Governance
The National Children’s Science Centre (NCSC) is a registered charity with a Board of Trustees drawn from the public, private and academic sector backgrounds. Under a previous Agreement (2003) with Government (announced by an Tánaiste at the time) two seats on the Board were reserved for representatives of Government Departments. Its new Agreement (2013) with Government revised this representation to one. However, the Board has agreed to add representatives from two other Government Departments. It has also encouraged the Government to discuss with it the establishment of the NSCS as an integral part of the State infrastructure once it has opened, by restructuring it as a State-owned company.
