Tom Bean Joins the Board of the National Children’s Science Centre

Dublin, Ireland — 14th October 2025 — The National Children’s Science Centre (NCSC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Bean to its Board of Directors. With planning permission now secured for Ireland’s first national science centre for children, the NCSC is focused on securing the necessary government support to bring the project to life. Tom’s expertise in innovation, sustainability and strategic leadership will be a valuable asset in helping the NCSC achieve its mission of inspiring and educating the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators.

Both an engineer and a Chartered Director, Tom brings nearly four decades of experience with leading companies in Ireland and the UK, including ESB, Vodafone, PwC and Logica. He chairs the Industry Advisory Board for TCD’s School of Engineering and is an external advisor at UCD on one of its major European energy research projects. He serves on the Council of the Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital, Dublin.

Tom is currently responsible for Customer Innovation at ESB, where he supports the delivery of the company’s Brighter Future Strategy to decarbonise society.
